Canaca Mango Review

Mango from Canaca is a fruity indica-dominant strain with dark, airy buds and a medium THC potency.

Canaca Mango is an indica-dominant strain that gets its flavour from a high terpene ratio of myrcene (commonly found in mangoes).

This flower is described as being dark in colour with deep reds and purple appearing just prior to harvest. Aside from myrcene, Mango also contains alpha-pinene and trans-caryophyllene giving it a balanced terpene mix. Canaca describes this flower as having medium THC potency so it’s a good option for both new and experienced smokers.

We reviewed Canaca’s Purps not long ago and thought it was decent. So how does their Mango strain compare?

Smell

The product arrived in a rather unassuming white plastic container with red label and security top. We opened the contained and right away understood why they picked the name Mango. The aroma reminded us of sweet and juicy ripe fruit. Mmm! This is one of those products you hope tastes as good as it smells.

Appearance

In terms of appearance you can tell right away this product is greenhouse grown. The buds have a rather rough and unkempt look. They are also light, airy, fluffy and don’t seem to hold a good trichome layer. Then again, it is hard to tell with all the leaf. Some people appreciate this natural look, for the most part I prefer the appearance of indoor flower which has been grown to perfection with climate controls. For example Citizen Stash Mac-1.

Flavour

Unfortunately the flavour was not as exciting as the smell. During the first few inhales we were detecting a sweet and juicy taste that was reminiscent of concentrate fruit drink or powder, however this seemed to taper off quite quickly and were we left with a more generic earthy, resin type flavour.

Experience

Canaca’s Mango is a solid product given it’s THC potency of 23% and a price tag of only $26.50 for 3.5 grams. While it may not be visually appealing or have a strong flavour profile, it certainly delivers a nice strong high. This product created a thick mental fog combined with a very strong body relaxation feeling and glassy, heavy eyes. We prefer this indica more then Canaca’s Alien Dawg strain and think the majority of smokers will enjoy it especially considering the bargain price.

Combination of a thick mental fog with a very strong sense of total body relaxation and a heavy feeling on the eyes. Since high school my friends and I have been recreational cannabis users so we decided to start Merry Jade after legalization in 2019. We review and photograph the different products then share them on this website. The rating system we use is called “SAFE” which stands for Smell, Appearance, Flavour and Experience. Each category gets a score out of 10.

  1. I hate to knock an L.P but Canaca product is meh! I have sampled nearly every strain they grow and there is not a single one that is not A) excessively leafy – as in they barely trimmed it. B) Excessively dry – as in I just dug out that final bone to make my dinosaur skeleton complete. C) Volume – As in what does RH mean and how do you use a gram scale? and finally D) Packaging – As in we use a giant plastic container for a few popcorn nuggets.

I remember that after the White Out, Alien Dawg and this one that I reluctantly saved for last; maybe because I like Pina Coladas. It was as Dave describes but worse. If you an extremely weak tolerance and/or on a super tight budget then that would be the only conditions for which I would recommend these products because they deliver a modest high for next to nothing. There is just so much better product out there at the same price point.

    • One of my friends who helps review said the same thing about their plastic container. It would be nice to see them use the smaller glass jars. However I agree there are better options available at this price.
