Houseplant Indica Review & Cannabis Photos

Houseplant's Indica is an indica-dominant strain that was created by crossing Chemdog 91 with Captain Krypt OG.

Houseplant is Seth Rogen’s cannabis company and so far they seem to be getting mixed reviews.

With a general name like “Indica” we were a bit curious as to which strain this was… a bit of digging led us to 91Krypt, an indica-dominant strain that was created by crossing Chemdog 91 (1991 being the year it was developed) and Captain Krypt OG (a combination of OG Kush and Kryptonite). As a result, 91Krypt’s dominant terpenes include caryophyllene and limonene resulting in a musky earthy aroma that will be familiar to longtime smokers. So how does Houseplant’s Indica compare against other similar products?

Smell

The product arrived in a heavy pink container with security lid. The aroma that slowly drifted out of the container was definitely interesting with initial hints of sweetness. Taking a deep inhale we noticed a very strong but pleasant sweet musky floral scent that became more prevalent the longer we kept the lid off. The smell was a pretty accurate match to Houseplant’s description.

Appearance

Houseplant’s Indica is a nice looking plant. With a robust and hardy appearance, the small buds were approximately all the same size, contained multiple shades of green, a spongy feel when squeezed, lots of orange hairs and a nice thin glazed layer of trichomes.

Flavour

The flavour really brings home why this company is called ‘Houseplant’. Sadly instead of getting more of that pleasant sweetness our nose got, we received a very strong plant taste that lasted from start to finish. Literally plant. Not herbal, but fresh cut green plant! Whether this was due to freshness or curing process, the taste was not as enjoyable as the aroma.

Experience

Overall Houseplant’s Indica is a decent product, but certainly not one we’d aggressively recommend to friends. It delivered a strong high that was above average and with mild mental impact while producing a moderately strong body buzz focused around the face. It was enjoyable, but there are better indica strains available for the same price or lower so you need to keep that in mind.

Summary
Houseplant's Indica strain is a decent product with a musky floral aroma and spongy bright green buds. However we found the flavour to have a strong plant taste which somewhat ruined the experience. The high was strong and enjoyable, but there are better indica products available for the same price or lower.

Since high school my friends and I have been recreational cannabis users so we decided to start Cannibros after legalization in 2019. We review and photograph the different products then share them on this website. The rating system we use is called “SAFE” which stands for Smell, Appearance, Flavour and Experience. Each category gets a score out of 10.
