Indiva San Fernando Valley OG Kush (sometimes called SFV OG Kush for short) is an indica-dominant strain that was cultivated when SFV OG was crossed with OG Kush.
The end result was a powerful flower known for its sedating effects accompanied with a strong odour described as smelling like lemon and pine scented cleaner. Lemon Pledge anyone? This strong aroma and flavour is the result of this strains terpene cocktail that includes d-Limonene, beta-Myrcene and linaool, which can create citrusy undertones with a hint of pepper.
The team at Indiva grows their San Fernando Valley OG Kush indoors using 1,000W High Pressure Sodium lights before drying on trays, hand-trimmed and finally packaged.
So how does this indica compare to Indiva’s Powdered Donuts?
Smell
The product arrived in small black plastic container with twist top. Removing the lid off released a strong piney herbal aroma. It leans more on the herbal than the pine in this instance. It was interesting that the expected citrusy undertone was not really present.
Appearance
After emptying out the contents, it was obvious this product did have a moisture pack. Bone dry but also fairly dense. We noticed a lot of dry flakes and every bud had a noticeably large stem. However it does have a very bright colour with a nice thick layer of trichomes.
Flavour
Interestingly enough the smell was amplified even more in the flavour when smoking. It had a familiar evergreen bush note with a touch of herbal before the dominant pine took over. Flavour was nice, but the smoke itself was harsher then it should of been and likely due to the dryness of the product.
Experience
Listed with 22.3% THC content, we found San Fernando Valley OG Kush from Indvia to be a good overall product. Bringing a strong mental buzz that includes a feeling of mild sedation in conjunction with a moderate overall body tingle. You’ll have fun even if you don’t move too much. Indiva really should include a moisture pack in their container as this would improve how the product is received by the customer. Not enough brands are doing this.
