From what we could learn, Kolab Project Kalifornia is the result of crossing 88 G-13 Hashplant with Nepali OG.
On the Kolab Project website they explain how this Kalifornia strain is grown using high-calibrated automated systems to ensure optimal grow conditions and a consistent product. During harvest all the buds are hand-trimmed then harvested and cured using a slower dry process at a low temperature.
It sounds fantastic so we were curious to see how it compared to Kolab’s Dark Shadow Haze.
Smell
The product was delivered in a sleek, medium-sized black bag featuring a zip seal. Upon opening, we were immediately greeted with the nostalgic scent reminiscent of our high school days—a delightful blend of skunky pine. The enticing aroma urged us to eagerly empty the contents of the bag.
Appearance
This was a buzz kill. What you see is usually what you get. Overall the buds that are intact are nice, however very shaky and dry to the bone. Plus, we had an enormous stem that further detracted from it’s appearance.
Flavour
Kalifornia offers a distinct herbal palate, subtly accented with notes of spice. Intriguingly, the pine scent we initially detected upon opening the bag didn’t come through during the smoking experience.
Experience
Kalifornia by Kolab Project, boasting 23.9% THC, presented itself as a respectable product. While it might not be groundbreaking, it’s far from underwhelming. Its effects deliver a reliably serene high, complemented by a notable body buzz, culminating in a gratifying experience.

Agreed. Not exactly the best presentation, but this is the first product from Kolab Project we’ve reviewed so hoping their next will not be so bone dry.
The Emerald Wizard
While nobody likes stem in their batch the dryness is actually perfect for a vaporizer. Anything drier would not be though and it probably doesn’t help that Kolab chose a vacuum sealed bag as opposed to a plastic/glass bottle with a smooth interior and a humectant. Nothing like dry and squished buds. The flavor is pretty decent, earthy and spicy but as mentioned this bud doesn’t taste like it smells. I’m actually vaping it right now in my Solo II and there’s almost a bit of wood in there too. Overall I think stem particles aside that its a solid 7.5. “Follow the Green brick road”

I’m glad to hear something positive about this product. Honestly, when that enormous stem dropped out of the bag it was a bit of buzz kill. We will probably add this one to the re-review list. Thanks again for the great feedback.
