On the Kolab Project website they explain how their Kalifornia strain is grown using high-calibrated automated systems to ensure optimal grow conditions and a consistent product. During harvest all the buds are hand-trimmed then harvested and cured using a slower dry process at a low temperature.
It sounds fantastic so we were anxious to order a batch.

The product arrived in a medium sized black bag with zip seal. Opening the bag and releasing the aroma gave us a flashback to our high school days with a nice skunky pine smell. The aroma got us really excited and we promptly dumped out the bag.
This was a buzz kill. What you see is usually what you get. Overall the buds that are intact are nice, however very shaky and dry to the bone. Plus, we had an enormous stem that further detracted from it’s appearance.
Kalifornia has a uniquely herbal flavour with hints or spice. Interestingly the pine we smelled when we opened the bag did not make itself present when smoking.
Kalifornia from Kolab Project is decent product. Nothing wow about it but not terrible either. A solid relaxing high complete with a moderately strong body buzz leaves a satisfying result.
