Natural History LA Kush Cake Review

LA Kush Cake from Natural History is an indica-dominant strain that was created by crossing Wedding Cake and Kush Mints.

Natural History LA Kush Cake is a hydroponically grown indica-dominant strain that was created by crossing Wedding Cake and Kush Mints.

The result with a plant with a high THC percentage, dense frosty buds with purple and pink tones covering a dark green backdrop. The aroma is described as earthy or sandalwood with notes of diesel, cake and vanilla. LA Kush Cake has a number of dominant terpenes that contribute to its smell and flavour including trans-caryophyllene, myrcene and trans-nerolidol. We reviewed Tantalus Labs LA Kush Cake strain not long ago and really liked it… so how does Natural History compare?

Smell

LA Kush Cake is a strain we’ve reviewed a few times before and we’re always happy to review another one! This one comes from Natural History and arrived in a medium sized black bag with resealable zipper top. As we’ve come to expect for this strain; pretty much the moment we opened the bag we were hit with a strong aroma. Delicious and almost reminded us of a sweet creamy lemon with earthy undertones. Mmm!

Appearance

In terms of appearance Natural History’s LA Kush Cake does not disappoint. The buds are dense and well groomed however they are a bit dry. Lots of fiery crisp orange hairs, bright greens with some purple leaves and a sparkling layer of frosty trichomes. What we have is something that keeps your eyes moving and undecided on where to rest. However Natural History’s Fruit Cake looked a bit better.

Flavour

The flavour of this LA Kush Cake has been wonderful each time we’ve reviewed. What you smell is what you taste and we’ll be shocked if we come across anyone who thinks otherwise! Natural History’s LA Kush Cake had a pleasant flavour but not as strong as Tantalus Labs version. However you can still expect a smooth creamy lemony taste with earthy undertone from start to finish.

Experience

Going going gone! LA Kush Cake from Natural History is listed with 23.2% THC content and delivered a very strong high that hits hard so you likely will need a nap if you enjoy too much. Mentally, the very strong high created a thick haze which produces gaps in your train of thought combined with a very heavy body buzz that is very close to couch-lock. However we’d still give the nod to Tantalus Labs in terms of flavour and smell but we’d take this over Thumbs Up Brand’s version and DOJA’s Cali Kush Cake. Experienced tokers are going to enjoy this product, but if you have a low THC tolerance then you might want to tread lightly.

Since high school my friends and I have been recreational cannabis users so we decided to start Merry Jade after legalization in 2019. We review and photograph the different products then share them on this website. The rating system we use is called “SAFE” which stands for Smell, Appearance, Flavour and Experience. Each category gets a score out of 10.

Have your say!

  1. I’m sorry, excuse me?!?! Umm tantalus labs you’re tryna say is better than Natural History? How much is Danny boy payin you? They don’t even respond to customers. Just a p.o.s. Company if I ever saw one. And their weed is horribly cured, weirdly geneticized almost fake product. Like the stuff out the back of the old high times mags. Now I know you’re getting somethin and your reviews are biased. Cause this LA kush cake is one of the top ten releases in Canadian rec and tantalus sells for $17 a can and still sits on shelves hah.

    • Are you not approving my comment because it doesn’t suit or side with your critique. No one will agree with this. You sound silly for saying it. Tantalus labs is a dud, it’s pretty obvious. Cmon man be realistic up in this bitch.

    • We’re thinking about adding the ability for the community to leave written reviews on the review pages. Instead of just commenting and rating. You would leave reviews if we did this Jord?
