Royal Cannabis Supply Co Tangerine Dream is a speciality cultivar that was originally bred by crossing G13, Neville’s A5 Haze and a classic Afghani strain.
This sativa-hybrid is a trial batch created for the Royal Cannabis Supply Co or RC Supply Co for short, by Medz Cannabis, a farm-gate in the Greater Toronto Area. The strain is described as having a fruity aroma and flavour with a strong myrcene presence in it’s terpene profile. The grow team apparently captured the fullest terpene expression possible by using a system that includes living soil and full-cycle LED lights.
Given the price we’re curious how it compares with products like Good Supply’s Tangie Green.
Smell
This product is our first experience with Royal Cannabis Supply Co. so we’re curious about quality especially considering the price was under 20 dollars. It arrived in a smaller black plastic bag with resealable zipper opening. The backside had a sticker indicating it has been packaged December 6, 2021. After tearing into the package we actually didn’t detect much smell almost like it needed a few seconds to breathe. After a minute the smell became more present and was similar to mild oranges mixed with some hops or herbs… like an orange fibre drink.
Appearance
We dumped out the contents and noticed RC Supply Co. did not include a humidity shield in the bag which is unfortunate. The buds were small to medium in size, fluffy yet still a bit spongy. However the outside was quite dry which resulted in a decent amount of shake accumulating. The colours were somewhat bland as the hairs were dark orange or brown with the leaves being a yellowish green.
Flavour
The flavour profile was definitely stronger than it’s aroma. After inhaling Royal Cannabis Supply Co Tangerine Dream it reminded us of a citrusy oranges with a mild peel or herbal rind on exhale, it reminded us a little bit of Liiv’s Orange Monkey. But on the negative side we pretty much all agreed the smoke itself was not as smooth as it could be, so that nice flavour gets mitigated slightly due to the harsh smoke.
Experience
Listed with 17.1% THC content and price tag of $19.95 for 3.5 grams we feel this product offers decent value for the money. Tangerine Dream from RC Supply Co. very much felt like a sativa and delivered a moderately strong high with an elevated mental alertness commencing immediately and nothing significant in terms of a body high. This one could be a decent way to start the day however it would be greatly improved by a humidity shield.
