Stonefruit Sunset from San Rafael 71 is a fruity and gassy hybrid that was created by crossing Gelato with Fuel strains.

It’s unique smell of berries, sherbet and gas is produced from a terpene combination that includes caryophyllene, limonene and myrcene. In terms of appearance, San Rafael 71 describes Stonefruit Sunset as having dark green buds with purple hues, bright orange pistils and a thick layer of trichomes. According to their website, all of the dried flower is hang dried, hand finished and hand bottled. This sounds wonderful, but how does it smoke?

Smell

The product arrived in an industry standard blue plastic container with security lid. We popped open the top and released a moderately strong aroma of gassy diesel with sweet berry undertones. The gas definitely is the primary odour, however as you focus longer you begin to notice the berry undertone more and more. The smell is pretty bang on to what was described by San Rafael 71.

Appearance

A few days ago we reviewed Jonny Chronic’s Unicorn Poop and loved the appearance. The same goes for this product except for different reasons. The Stonefruit Sunset buds are small to medium in size and very dense. Plus, they have a wonderful colouration that includes dark green, purple tipped leaves with light orange hairs and a heavy coating of trichomes.

Flavour

The gassy aroma with berry undertones translates well to the flavour profile. From the first inhale pretty much until the end we noted a strong gasoline flavour with subtle sweet note of berries throughout. San Rafael 71 also included a moisture shield in the container which definitely helped retain freshness and produce a smooth smoke.

Experience

We really liked the smell, flavour and appear of Stonefruit Sunset from San Rafael 71 but we felt a bit disappointed with the high. Maybe disappointment is the wrong word, but rather underwhelmed. It delivered a moderately calming mental high combined with an equally moderate body buzz. The experience was not bad by any means, however at the same time it definitely did not provide the high we expected.

Summary
Stonefruit Sunset from San Rafael 71 is a hybrid known for it's gassy and berry aroma. Although this product looked simply amazing, we felt underwhelmed by the high. We expected something with a bit of kick, however it only delivered a moderately strong mental buzz with an equally strong body buzz. If you're a fan of gassy cannabis then you'll probably enjoy this one, just don't expect to be blown away by the high.

Since high school my friends and I have been recreational cannabis users so we decided to start Cannibros after legalization in 2019. We review and photograph the different products then share them on this website. The rating system we use is called “SAFE” which stands for Smell, Appearance, Flavour and Experience. Each category gets a score out of 10.
